WOW! It's been quite some time since I've written a blog. So what prompted me to write this one you say?? Well, 2017 and the start of a new year of course.
I really just wanted to take the time and reflect on 2016. Like any human being, I've had my fair share of high's and low's of 2016 both personally and professionally, but I can honestly say that it has been mostly high. My clients make me really really happy and when they're doing well and they're happy then I am super duper happy. Every last one of them have said that they had a really great 2016 but that they plan on going even harder for 2017, so of course that means that I have to go EVEN HARDER for them and that is ultimately my plan. At the end of the day I do what I do for them.
Although I have a 9-5 and I have a squad that I work for I do have some things that I want to accomplish for myself too. I'm not a big resolution, but I am a goal person. So instead of setting resolutions for this coming year, I've decided to set some goals. Some professionally and some personally and please feel free to comment and let me know what some of your goals are and check in every now and then to let me know how you are doing in process. Let's be accountablitity partners cause well, everybody needs one of them right?? LOL Oh and by the way, they aren't necessarily in this order hahaha....
Heather's goals for 2017
1. Go to the gym (but like who doesn't have this goal in the beginning of every year?)
2. Publish my book (A Beautiful Liar, coming this year some time)
3. Pay off one credit card (This one shouldn't be too hard)
4. Call my mother more often (She lives in ATL)
5. Save money (Sorta hard with a teenage girl)
6. Start looking into grants to open a bookstore
7. Wake up each day with the mission of being better than I was the day before
So I know I have more, and the more is really on a personal level that I need to work on within. Some Feng Shui type stuff
I wish you all luck with your goals or your resolutions. Remember, you can always drop me an email or DM/Inbox me on social media or feel free to leave a comment here. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
It's been real.

Wow! Since the launch of my website and the activation of my FB and IG business pages, my emails and inboxes have been FLOODED with questions and inquiries. It's crazy because I never in my wildest dreams thought that the response to my new found career would be so amazing. I thank you all for the love.
One of the questions that I keep getting is "what is it like to be an agents?" I find myself getting extra passionate about that question because when I think about what I do to get my authors bookings, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside (like FORREAL). For anyone that knows me personally, they know that books are my life. I love to read and even more than that, I love to interact with authors. However; what makes what I do that much better is the fact that I believe in the work that my authors do. I do not feel that anybody can promote OR market something that they do not believe in.
With that being said, yes, I absolutely believe in them. I have read their books! ALL OF THEM. That's why doing what I do is thrilling. I know how to promote their product!!! So, my life as an agent is pretty simple "get my authors bookings" HOWEVER; it takes a lot of ground work to do so.
In the literary industry, oftentimes, it is not what you know but WHO you know. So the hustle and bustle of building my contacts has been both frustrating and rewarding at the same time. The connections that I have built I know will last a long time and they will help me to flourish in the industry.
The caveat to all of this is that I still do have a 9-5 that I must report to everyday, and quite a few employees that expect me to show up too....LOL! I love what I do from 9-5 as well and it does keep the bills paid, food on the table and clothes on our backs. But ultimately I will be an agent full-time one day...and one day soon.
My aspirations do not just stop with my agent work, I do plan on running a separate blog, starting a face to face book club in my city and surrounding areas AND opening a bookstore. So yeah, the life of a new agent is pretty busy, but pretty damn fulfilling.
So, there ya go...Just a little insight into my new life. I plan on posting some more soon and look out for my squad (as I so affectionately call them). They are on the move and on a literary book tour. They will be at a city near you real soon! We'd love to see you there.

Hello everyone and welcome to my very first blog post. Let me just let you all know that I am super excited and nervous not only about this blog, but I am both excited and nervous about this new business venture.
Since I can remember, I have been into books. Some might call me an avid reader and I have been called a book work from time to time LOL! But not only do I read, I write too. I have been working on a book for many years now and eventually I will find the time to get it published and share my crazy mind with you. In the meantime, I'll continue to help authors make their dreams come true which for me is fulfilling in itself.
So in this blog, what you can expect is a little humor from time to time, some important info that could help agents, authors, etc..and I'll also do a book review every now and then because I LOVE DOING REVIEWS!!!
A few other things that I have brewing is a bookstore in the Philadelphia area and an Author Summit in which I will bring new authors together with some vet authors to sort of break bread with one another. I can't wait for that experience. I know it will be awesome.
But in the meantime, please enjoy our website and hope that you come back again to check us out again!
